Communication is Key to Developing Critical Thinking Skills
At ReClif we believe communication is more than talking. It encompasses reading, writing and comprehension. For us, “elementary” means “fundamental”. We address multiple, fundamental aspects of communication,

Our clients and their families have found that our Elementary Communications program has shown improvements in the following areas:
- encoding and decoding using phonics
- reading fluency
- reading comprehension
- drawing inferences based upon information
- increased vocabulary
- communication using a letterboard
Life Enrichment and Enhancement are the Goals for Communications
In Elementary Communications, each client’s program is developed from conversations with parents, caregivers and clients. based on what the client is doing at home and in the community. Our goal is to build a program for that individual to give them what they need to succeed, including conversational skills and learning to analyze information.
We address all reading levels from new, early learners to adults whose reading skills need foundational phonics work to broaden and enhance their daily lives. We use the Orton-Gillingham multi-sensory methodology in conjunction with reading comprehension exercises, fluency exercises and vocabulary enrichment exercises.
Spelling-to-Communicate (S2C) is approached as a family program and all members of the clients family participate in the sessions and homework to become proficient communication partners with their non-verbal autistics.
