Musical Therapy Can Be Individualized For Each Client
Just like therapy at the ReClif facility, The George Center prioritizes both clients and their caregivers. Sessions are one hour long, using 50 minutes for treatment and 10 minutes for documentation and communication with caregivers. Each session is working to improve on the individual’s skills to help them reach goals. The input and participation of the caregiver is essential.
Therapy sessions include a variety of musical activities such as singing, dancing, or playing instruments. The therapist will create a custom lesson including techniques such as music mnemonics, presenting scripts through music cuing, using music as a motivator or reinforcing stimulus, task sequencing with music, using language concepts through song, and creating cause and effect by playing musical instruments.
All music therapy sessions at ReClif must be scheduled by contacting The George Center directly. Their staff and facilities are fantastic, and we are happy to refer our ReClif clients there for a high-quality music therapy experience.
